STAFF ACCOUNTANT

THIS IS A COMMISSION POSITION ONLY


We are currently seeking Seasonal Tax Preparers for the 2013 tax season. Training is provided but tax experienced as tax professional is a plus. PTIN required.  Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) required.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  - Greet all customers in a friendly yet professional manner; make customers feel welcome and comfortable.

 - Conducts a thorough in-person interview with potential clients, using the company’s propriety tax software application.

  - Provides details to clients concerning appropriate company products and services.

  - Completes all related tax forms in accordance with policies, and in compliance with legislation and regulations.

  - Checks the “hold” drawer daily and contacts clients for additional information, as necessary, to ensure accurate   

     completion of tax returns.

  - Audits all tax return forms for accuracy and completeness (i.e., client signatures).

  - Researches tax related questions and issues, and responds to clients appropriately and within a timely manner.

  - Monitors on-site client volume and advises supervisor when additional tax preparers are required.

  - Maintain office image; keep work area neat and clean.

  - Resolves client complaints, or refers situations to supervisor (as appropriate) for resolution.

  - Performs other duties as required.

  - Must be able to work overtime if needed

  - Must be able to work Saturdays and/or Sundays

  - Must have good computer skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  * Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and verbal communication skills.

  * Strong attention to detail/accuracy; Strong organization skills.

  * Completion of tax preparation course preferred but not required.

  * Training will be provided for qualified candidates

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT


GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This individual reports to the management and is responsible for providing administrative support to staff and assuming bookkeeping, and reception. These duties include but are not limited to: database system maintenance, typing, filing, reception and telephone duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  - Assume receptionist duties, greet public and refer them to appropriate staff members, answer phone, route calls, and

     take messages.
  - Assist staff with administrative duties as requested.
  - Cooperate in the maintenance and/or modification of agency data collection system.
  - Oversee database management for quality assurance.
  - Provide training to staff on database encoding.
  - Maintain accurate daily accounting of fees, donations and other revenue.
  - Assist with completion of necessary statistical reports as requested.
  - Compile statistical information for Executive Director as requested.
  - Develop and maintain agency inventory system.
  - Distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail including bulk mail.
  - Maintain front desk area, keeping it clean and free from clutter.
  - Type and word process documents as needed.
  - Order office supplies and monitor inventory.
  - Update and maintain mailing lists.
  - Produce mailing labels and reports as requested.
  - Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, and consumers.
  - Facilitate special event registration and execution.
  - Assist with various program operations as requested as responsibilities permit.
  - Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  * Bilingual English and Spanish required*
  * Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  * Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
  * Knowledge of general office machines and telephone system
  * Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  * High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
  * Ability and willingness to work some early mornings, evenings and weekend days
